Design is second nature to CADAR’s founder and creative director, Michal Cadar. In her youth, she spent countless hours collecting seashells on the beach to assist her artist father in creating life-sized sculptures. In return, she developed a meticulous attention to detail and a talent for contemplation during complex work processes.
The rich cultural fusion of her European and North African family heritage ignited her childhood dreams and set her on a path towards art and design.
From the totems of Florence’s Renaissance to the sensory experiences of the desert, diverse influences honed her natural insight and shaped her unique design approach early on.
Michal studied a range of design courses, including art, high jewelry, and fashion. Fashion sparked her passion early; from the age of 12, she scoured books and magazines for information to satisfy her curiosity about European fashion and Japanese deconstructionists.
Later, she opened a fashion boutique in Tel Aviv, where her innovative designs quickly gained recognition, attracting international celebrities and socialites as distinguished clients.
As a jewelry designer, Michal has earned numerous accolades for CADAR, including the 2016 FGI Rising Star Award in the fine jewelry category, the 2017 “Best in Gold” at The COUTURE Show, and the inaugural Town & Country Jewelry Award for “Best Gold Design of the Year” in 2018.
Each jewelry collection tells a story through intricate symbolism inspired by the world around us, including themes such as light, water, love, and nature. Bold minimalism and a unified aesthetic of proportions and balance are hallmarks of her work.
As a designer, Michal strives for excellence as she creates pieces that cater to women of all ages, meeting their aesthetic desires for wearable art that expresses their unique style.
Light
The debut collection defines the all-encompassing radiance, featuring the sun, moon, and stars as main characters. Celestial bodies are reimagined in their purest forms: a brilliant star evolves into a six-pointed diamond, the sun becomes twelve rays of light, while the moon is expressed through pavé diamonds capturing the jewelry’s silhouette.
Water
The mesmerizing beauty of the ocean horizon, where water meets sky, inspired the Water collection. It explores water’s emotional significance, its fluidity, and its relationship with light. Using rigid metal to showcase water’s fluidity, the collection features three concentric half-circles as elements that can move and sway freely, capturing both water’s texture and magic, as well as the dance of light reflected on its surface.
Bloom
The Bloom collection represents the fusion of light and water in a series of meticulously crafted floral jewelry. Curved petals echo the semicircular ripples of light, while elegant tassel cascades flow like water beneath floral pendants. The moon’s halo is present in the diamond pavé details of the bracelet.
Reflections
This collection draws inspiration from self-awareness reflection: satisfaction can only exist within. The core pattern is a double-sided gold sphere, set within an elegant arc of brilliant diamonds. Delicate diamonds flutter like eyelashes, while teardrop-shaped diamonds flow like tears, reminiscent of surging emotional memories.
Feather
Inspired by the feather adornments found in nature’s most beautiful play of light and shadow. Fluttering earrings replicate the feather’s delicate flow and lightness, beautifully elongating the neck and creating new silhouettes in sunlight.
PSYCHE
Interpreting the human spinal cord as the connection between mind and soul, visually represented as a slender gold column. Crystal-like spheres represent the powerful nerves connected to the brain, enabling the body to realize its infinite potential.
ESSENCE
A brilliant and alluring pavé diamond ring elegantly rests between the fingers. Spiral planes and three-dimensional cone shapes connect, representing an inner journey guided by a powerful force. Full of mystique, it guides the wearer towards true distant horizons.
Endless
A sculptural heart and a pair of wings form a powerful duet, symbolizing the essence of love: the vitality of unity and the strength of flying solo. A brilliant-cut diamond is placed in the round heart-shaped bouquet of the engagement ring. The alluring curves of the earrings are a township of modern feminine style. A folded heart-shaped pendant hangs at the collarbone, as striking as magnified love.
