Gucci’s Horsebit Jewelry Collection Turns 20: A Dazzling Celebration of Equestrian Elegance

Gucci has launched its iconic Horsebit jewelry collection to commemorate its 20th anniversary. The collection features the brand’s signature equestrian-inspired motif, which has long been a symbol of the house.

The horse bit design elegantly captures the grace of equestrianism while deeply reflecting the historical significance of this iconic design element. It is masterfully incorporated into necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and rings, showcasing extraordinary artistic charm.

The brand campaign, shot by photographers Deo Suveera and Pamela Dimitrov, highlights the close connection between Gucci and the equestrian world in terms of aesthetic elements and lifestyle. Known for their ability to capture the essence of beauty, Suveera and Dimitrov brilliantly showcase these iconic masterpieces through uniquely individual models such as Agel Akol, Ana Rossolovich, Chloe Oh, and Achille Genet.

The collection includes pieces crafted in 18K yellow gold and 18K rose gold with diamonds. The 18K yellow gold series meticulously features three necklaces, three bracelets, a ring, and two sets of earrings. The necklace designs offer both horse bit pendants and stylish lariat options.

The bracelet selection includes a soft double-chain design, a bold bangle style, and a version formed by interlocking classic horse bit elements. The ring, small stud earrings, and hoop earrings all ingeniously incorporate the iconic horse bit element, exuding a unique allure.

The fusion of 18K rose gold and diamonds embodies an air of elegance and nobility. The necklace and one of the bracelets feature delicate chains adorned with the iconic double ring and bar elements, culminating in a brilliant diamond as the finishing touch, adding infinite radiance.

Another bracelet showcases a unique design with an elegant string of horse bit links encircling the wrist, embellished with four diamonds, striking a perfect balance between uniqueness and sophistication. The rings come in classic single and double loop styles, while the earrings offer a choice between dainty studs and slender pendants, each designed to perfectly accentuate the ears and enhance feminine allure.

The Horse Bit: Gucci’s Timeless Classic Symbol

The horse bit design first appeared in the notebooks of Gucci artisans in the late 1940s, profoundly reflecting the brand’s enduring passion for equestrianism. Since the 1950s, this element rapidly ascended to become a symbol of elegance, adorning handbags, belts, and small leather goods. In 1953, it was ingeniously incorporated into the design of loafers, creating the iconic Horsebit loafer.

In the 1970s, the horse bit’s fashion influence further expanded, making its debut on bracelets and watches, ultimately driving Gucci to officially launch its own jewelry collection in 2004. Today, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Horsebit jewelry collection, Gucci presents it anew in a refined and symbolically significant manner.

A specialized third-party organization was responsible for overseeing the production and ensuring animal welfare and safety on set.
