Following her appearance at the BAFTA Awards in London, the Australian actress embarked on a creative mission with Francesca Amfitheatrof, Louis Vuitton’s Artistic Director for Watches and Jewelry. “This is our third collaboration with Cate, repurposing materials and pieces from existing collections to create a simple and elegant diamond and pearl series,” Amfitheatrof explained. “Our goal is to create surprises and explore imaginative ways to reuse and repurpose materials.
New ideas and designs often emerge from what’s already around us; the key is how you explore and capture them.”
Their shared vision for sustainability created a unique design for the Cannes Film Festival. This minimalist necklace features white Ayoka pearls and metallic grey Tahitian pearls, along with 633 diamonds, all sourced from past Louis Vuitton high jewelry pieces.
This custom-made jewel is meticulously hand-woven, perfectly embracing the actress’s shoulders while allowing movement with the body. The necklace is a testament to their collaboration, displayed on the actress’s bare skin, complementing her simple strapless gown and small diamond hoop earrings.
