From April 20th to June 22nd, Tomfoolery London Gallery is hosting its 9th “Love Ring” jewelry exhibition, inviting contemporary jewelry designers from around the world to create engagement or wedding rings.
This year’s theme focuses on vibrant colors, with designers using a myriad of colorful gemstones to craft halo rings, three-stone rings, cluster rings, and signet rings, showcasing a fusion of classical and contemporary trends.
The most colorful piece in the collection is a Rainbow Mega Halo gold ring created by London jeweler Ciara Bowles. This ring employs the classic “halo ring” design, featuring a 1-carat oval-cut white sapphire as the center stone. Surrounding this centerpiece are seven oval-cut colored sapphires, encompassing a spectrum of green, orange-red, blue, and yellow hues, creating a rainbow-like halo effect.
The most dynamic design is a unique Butterfly-themed ring, designed and crafted by British jeweler Leto Lama. The designer has sculpted a spread-winged butterfly in gold, with the surface treated through hammering and forging techniques to achieve a raw, rustic texture. The butterfly’s body is adorned with an emerald-cut diamond, while the wing edges are accented with blue and purple-hued sapphires, exuding a dreamy, iridescent brilliance.
“Green gemstones” are particularly abundant and prominent in this exhibition, with rings featuring emeralds, green tourmalines, and green sapphires as center stones. Brooke Gregson’s Harmony gold ring showcases a 3.49ct emerald-cut green tourmaline as the main stone, flanked by two diamonds in a classic “three-stone ring” design.
American jeweler Diana Mitchell has created a gold ring with a minimalist style that highlights the saturated green color of an oval-carved emerald as its centerpiece.
